Fatherhood in Focus is a groundbreaking program that puts fathers at the forefront of maternal health, ensuring they have the support, knowledge, and confidence to navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum alongside their partners.
This is a safe space for men
A place where fathers are seen, heard, and valued, where their concerns are addressed, and where they can connect with other men walking the same journey.
Through open conversations and expert guidance, we break down the stages of labor, birth, breastfeeding, and postpartum from a masculine perspective, helping dads understand their critical role in the birth experience and beyond.
At the heart of this program is our belief: Better Fathers = Stronger Families.
Your presence, support, and advocacy make a real difference. Whether you’re a first-time dad or adding to your family, Fatherhood in Focus equips you with the tools and brotherhood to show up fully for your partner, your child, and yourself.
Meeting dates available for virtual & in-person.
Ujima Maternity Network is proud to partner with FAM (Fathers Assisting Mothers) and James Hughes of Kansas City, Missouri to launch this transformative program, ensuring fathers have the resources and community they need to thrive.

Doulo Training Program for Fathers
Ujima Maternity Network in partnership with Father’s Assisting Mothers are Thrilled to announce our newest collaboration “Fatherhood in Focus Doulo Training”. We believe that men play a powerful supportive role in improving maternal healthcare outcomes.
That is why we have decided to train men to be DOULOS to upcoming fathers. These men will walk through 40 hours of didactic learning with James Hogue “The Dad Doula” of Father’s Assisting Mothers aka FAM and Nicollus Fletcher of Ujima Maternity Network.
The cost for this training is covered with Ujima’s partnership with UAMS!
